AND I WANT TO ADDRESS THIS DIRECTLY TO THE BIKERS
Like any group in society the
Bikers are a minority interest but let that not diminish what you are as a
group and what is happening here. You are very visible and fast becoming more
so. I understand some of this because I fly balloons – and I am acutely aware
that the good and ordinary people on the ground all have a dream of what that
means in terms of the freedom to drift across the sky in a multicoloured vision
and be so visible to so many people.
So I get it big-time – you, the
bikers of America and the world, have global visibility far greater than your
numbers – and I never thought I would find myself putting that in writing.
Bikers and biking represent a
range of feelings and thoughts and ideas in the minds of the Silent Majority
when they see you rumble down the road.
You worry them a bit of course – because among other things you are a
symbol of defiance and freedom and being outside the control of authority – even if they
think it’s just the freedom of the highway. Everyone – everyone, dreams of cruising
down the endless highway, free as a bird, with the wind in their hair and the
rumble of their engine – sweeping around corners to new vistas – seeing and
enjoying the world.
But that’s just the dream. There
is something deeper and more important here.
The guy in the suit who seems to
be in control of what YOU do in YOUR life, might be nervous in the presence of
a clan of bikers, but he does actually share the dream. He knows the folk-law
and he knows the place this confederacy of bikers has in the American Dream. He
sees you as tough, practical, uncompromising - and people to have beside you in
a difficult situation – and please
– I’m not talking about in a bar brawl.
I am talking about the serious things that seem to be facing us all
across the world today. And maybe – like me – he didn’t realise it before this.
So you see, you are a symbol – and
as such you can bring millions of people world wide along with you to a new
recognition of that American Dream
Ok – so big words – and maybe I’m
telling you what you know already – but there’s more to this and I want to
explain.
The Silent Majority are all
around you – everywhere – you know lots of them - and because of their numbers they
are vitally important to the future of freedom, and usually they just keep their
heads down, get on with life and do their jobs and look after the family and
lament the barriers put in front of them while struggling over them and hoping
for a better day.
You guys (because of your
visibility and mobility) could give them the place and the courage to turn up, stand beside
you and say - ENOUGH!
I hope to suggest to y’all, that
you give some careful thought to this and realise that your place in their
dream – and in the American Dream, could make a difference. You are the Grass Roots
and with the Truckers and Tradesmen, also Grass Roots, could make a big difference to the
future of mainstream politics in the USA.
Because you have now heard your own
voice – and the world has heard it also – and they wait now (in hope) to hear
what you have to say.
You could be instrumental in giving the Grass Roots
and the Silent Majority a voice and now you need to invite them in I think.
Is there a way to do that?
